A Washington State, EPA funded ,study of increased marine traffic, in our shared Salish Sea  ,CONCLUDED    “…simply…there is no guarantee that RISK increases ….. can be fully mitigated.”
The proposed BC ‘Think Tank’ ‘..is to study the ‘RISKS OF MARINE SHIPPING’
Can/should  we expect a similar   CONCLUSION from the  BC Think Tank  ‘risk’ studies..  ??
We have AN OPPORTUNITY to lessen the risk of bitumen spills –if we do our share to decrease the number of large bitumen  laden tankers travelling through our busy waters. ..’less’ TRAFFIC decreases risk !!
Our  environmental uniqueness  provides  BC with multi-billions in  business and tax revenues…a significant part of our economy , that BC does not want to  ‘threaten’ by careless action ,or INACTION !
Build pipelines that do NOT require bitumen laden tankers to travel,UNNECESSARILY , through our busiest, environmentally sensitive waters..Burrard Inlet,Douglas Channel…and the Salish Sea !
There is a better, alternative, choice for bitumen tanker routes…
Build one ,combined Enbridge and Kinder Morgan pipelines system ,from Alberta to marine terminal  in ,or near,  Port Simpson …which offers  relatively open-ocean access to world markets…
Hopefully the ‘new bunch ‘ in Ottawa will instruct  the NEB to call for a new, more publically acceptable, simpler, ‘bitumen pipeline and shipping’ proposal  !
