A media report tell us that our ‘Eastern lad ‘ …says the province’s NDP and Greens, who oppose the Trans Mountain Extension Project(TMEP) project, are “wrong” in their position. Reminds me of the WW 2 story where a mother claims that all the marching soldiers were out of step…except for MY son…. !
… Let’s put aside all the rhetoric and deal with the entire dilbit export project, and all of its ramifications …openly . Recently our Minister of science told us.. …. “We need to be basing our decisions and policies on facts, on evidence and on SCIENCE …” …remains as our Government position…I assume ??
So what to do…let those thousands of government scientists prepare a risk assessment that identifies the marine routes that offer the least likelihood of a tanker spill incident on the entire BC coast…….
Yes, build ONE PIPELINE that terminates at a location that gives open-ocean access for tankers to enter the Pacific… …and thus removing additional dilbit laden tankers from active , island-bound, waters such as Douglas Channel, Burrard Inlet…or the international Salish Sea waters…..our Washington State neighbours watch nervously….
